Playing “making words” promotes early reading strategies. Players could play “snap” or pairs”. For example; you could shout snap if the following cards are shown, b and ug (makes bug), or d and og (makes dog). To play pairs simply turn the cards over and see if any two match. If they do the player keeps the cards. The player with the most cards wins.
